So this weekend was a busy one. Tara and Jon got married and we celebrated all weekend long!!! It was easily the most beautiful wedding I have ever been too. We are so excited for what God has planned for Jon and Tara. We can't wait for them to come back from their honeymoon. On Sunday our friend Maya was baptized. She was so cute.
Lily went for her 4 month check-up on Monday. It went so well, except for her vaccinations...she still makes the craziest sounds when she gets them. She is now 12 lbs 6.5 oz (25%) 24 in (25%) and her head is still in the 50%. I can't believe how fast she is growing. It makes me sad in a way that she is doing all these new things like playing with some toys, rolling over and eating rice cereal!!! We tried it this morning for the first time and it went so well. I thought I would wait until she was like 5 months, but we were just so excited to try it. Here are a few pictures from our crazy weekend.
Having brought home our first baby we wanted to have a chance to talk about what we are experiencing and how much we love her.

Big Deals in our house!!!
So in the past week our family has experienced some pretty big things!!! Bob turned 30 last Thursday and we celebrated with friends. It was also are our friend Adrienne's 30th birthday as well so I attempted to make a cake. It did not turn out so well. I had great aspirations for this cake but instead I ended up buying one from the store. But Bob had a great birthday anyways, and took pictures of the "beautiful" cake. Clearly I need a little more practice with the writing.
This past weekend we took Lily to her first jr. high retreat to Laurelville. She had a great time, and was sooo good. Being at a camp with a couple hundred jr. high students was a new experience for her. Lucky for Bob and I there was no shortage of people wanting to hold her. Lily also experienced some first yesterday. She rolled over for the first time. Bob and I were so excited that we started clapping which scared her and she began to cry. We haven't gotten her to do it again, but we know that she will. We even tried to get it on video but for now have only managed to get her while she is crying. It was really awesome though. She also discovered a new toy that she likes. It's so crazy to see her actually playing with things and reaching out to grab them.

3 months old!
I can hardly believe that Lily is 3 months old. She celebrated her big day yesterday by spending the day at work with us. She is doing so many amazing things now. She loves to laugh and smile and enjoys having "conversations" with us. She is such a sweet and easy going little girl. She loves to be around the church office and never minds being held by any of the ladies at church. I can't wait to see what new things she does this month. It looks like she has her dad's hair though...but she's still so cute.
2 years and 1 baby later....
Last Tuesday, October 6th, Bob and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary. We have celebrated many special occasions at our favorite restaurant, Lucca, in Oakland. My all time favorite memory of this place is the very first time Bob and I ate there. We were dating and celebrated our first dating anniversary there and he told me he loved me! So needless to say it holds a very special place in my heart. But this time we got to celebrate with Lily. She got all dressed up and came out with us too! It was a little crazy bringing her with us, but so fun to celebrate as a family. So 2 year and 1 baby later and God continues to bless us.

2 months
Since the last time I wrote, Lily has turned 2 months, attended her first Sr. High and Jr. High youth groups and had a sleepover at her grandparents. At her 2 month appointment she gained weight and is now at 9 lbs 4.5 oz. and is measuring at 21.5 inches! It's funny she now is the size of our friends new born, who was born a moth after her. I will be going back to work on Oct.1st, even though I have already been doing work. I am excited to go back, but if I could have one wish, I would love to stay home and spend all my time with Lily. Though Bob and I are lucky in that we get to bring her to work with us. But the few days she has been there have been challenging. She does really good at youth group mainly cause I carry her around in her sling, but during the day she is very demanding and fussy while at church. So we'll have to figure all of that out as we go.
More importantly though, Lily has been smiling and laughing at us all the time now!!!! It is the most amazing thing to have your daughter look right at you and smile. Sometimes it's gas, but when it is just a true smile for me-it's an indescribable feeling.

Rare and Beautiful
Today I was reading in Proverbs while rocking Lily and read the perfect verse. Just sitting there thinking about those words, and looking at my beautiful daughter I couldn't help but know that she is the rare and beautiful treasure from God. Lily has brought so much joy and love to our home. We are so thankful for her.
By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures. ~ Proverbs 24:3-4

Updates
We saw our doctors last week, whom we love (thanks Sparrs!!!), and Lily is doing great. She finally gained some real weight! She is now 7 lbs and 13 oz which is only in the 10th percentile, and she is 19.5 inches and is in the 3rd percentile. So she is just about the size of our friends new born! But the doctors are happy with her growth and we love our little girl.

1 MONTH
Today we celebrate Lily's 1 month. She is growing so fast and always surprising us with new and exciting things every day. This month has gone by so fast and we can't wait to see what she does next. She has been turning her head during "tummy time". She hates "tummy time" and without a doubt always spits up. She is amazing and perfect and I can't imagine living without her. What a gift.

2 weeks
So here we are at 2 weeks already!!!! I can't believe how fast these first 2 weeks have gone. She already is starting to look like a little person, it's so amazing how fast they change. Our family has been blessed with so many loving visitors since her birth. I don't think any baby has been loved more than ours! So far in Lily's first 2 weeks she has attended her first wedding, saw her first mission team off to St. Vincent, attended her first picnic and bonfire and had her grandparents baby sit her while Bob and I went to the movies. She has been a busy little girl and I am sure this is just the begining of her life with us.

FIrst Days At Home
Now that we have been home for a few days we have found how wonderful it is having a new baby. Tiring and trying at time, but so very amazing. Lily can to be with us on Monday July 13th at 8:11 am weighing 6 lbs 15 oz and measuring at 19 inches. It was an eventful three days in the hospital. She had a ton of visitors who loved and kissed her. She is a very lucky little girl to have so many people who love her. Bob and I wonder wonder what we did with all our time before Lily came. Needles to say we are madly in love with Lily and can't wait to see what God has in store for our family.
