New Things

It's been a while since I have posted anything. So here is an update on what you have missed. Lily turned 7 months old!!! She is now crawling and into everything. It has been so amazing to see her growing and learning new things. Plus she is so stinking cute! We got a fun new camera and I have been having too much fun taking pictures...mostly of Lily. I have picked up some fun little side jobs, watching our friends daughter Maya one day a week and then also working for my friend Betsy's business, Ziggle's custom designed chocolate greetings. I really enjoy all these new things in our week, plus all the normal youth group/church stuff. So as you can see we are keeping ourselves VERY busy. And we love it. Here are a few pictures, I will post more soon.

Violet is here

On Saturday we traveled to Harrisburg to visit with Tim, Ruth, Lydia and new baby Violet. She is so beautiful and so little, at least compared to Lily. I think I have already forgotten what it is like to hold a new born. Lydia is such a great big sister to Violet and so good with Lily. Lily had so much fun playing with Lydia and Lydia enjoyed a new game I like to call, "I want to do what baby Lily does". Which basically means what ever Lily was doing Lydia wanted to do. So Lydia got a few airplane rides and lots of kisses. Here are some pictures of our day.

Ethiopian Fun!

Today we celebrated a very exciting day in the life of our friends the Sparr's. We celebrated not only Yabby's 7th birthday but also her Gotcha-Day. A year ago Yabby came from Ethiopia! She is such a beautiful girl on the inside and out. We spent the afternoon at Tana, an authentic Ethiopian restaurant, with the Sparrs and other members of our church family. We had amazing food, and a customary coffee ceremony. It was so fun to be a part of this special day. Here are a few pictures of our day.

6 months already

I can't believe that Lily is 6 months old already. Time has really flown by and she is getting bigger and cuter every day. She continues to roll over and is able to sit up now with no support. It is so fun to watch her grow but a little sad too. She is so beautiful and so sweet. How am I so lucky. Here are her new stats. 14 lbs (25%), 25 inches (25%). She LOVES eating and enjoys trying so many different kinds.

BIG updates!!!!

So this weekend was a busy one. Tara and Jon got married and we celebrated all weekend long!!! It was easily the most beautiful wedding I have ever been too. We are so excited for what God has planned for Jon and Tara. We can't wait for them to come back from their honeymoon. On Sunday our friend Maya was baptized. She was so cute.

Lily went for her 4 month check-up on Monday. It went so well, except for her vaccinations...she still makes the craziest sounds when she gets them. She is now 12 lbs 6.5 oz (25%) 24 in (25%) and her head is still in the 50%. I can't believe how fast she is growing. It makes me sad in a way that she is doing all these new things like playing with some toys, rolling over and eating rice cereal!!! We tried it this morning for the first time and it went so well. I thought I would wait until she was like 5 months, but we were just so excited to try it. Here are a few pictures from our crazy weekend.

Big Deals in our house!!!

So in the past week our family has experienced some pretty big things!!! Bob turned 30 last Thursday and we celebrated with friends. It was also are our friend Adrienne's 30th birthday as well so I attempted to make a cake. It did not turn out so well. I had great aspirations for this cake but instead I ended up buying one from the store. But Bob had a great birthday anyways, and took pictures of the "beautiful" cake. Clearly I need a little more practice with the writing.

This past weekend we took Lily to her first jr. high retreat to Laurelville. She had a great time, and was sooo good. Being at a camp with a couple hundred jr. high students was a new experience for her. Lucky for Bob and I there was no shortage of people wanting to hold her. Lily also experienced some first yesterday. She rolled over for the first time. Bob and I were so excited that we started clapping which scared her and she began to cry. We haven't gotten her to do it again, but we know that she will. We even tried to get it on video but for now have only managed to get her while she is crying. It was really awesome though. She also discovered a new toy that she likes. It's so crazy to see her actually playing with things and reaching out to grab them.

1st Halloween

Lily's first Halloween can be summed up in one word....sleeping. Cause that is all she did for Halloween. We dressed her up and took her out to dinner with some church friends and she just slept. But she looked cute anyhow. I thought she'd make a cute reindeer, red nose and all.
